Food sampling vans come in all shapes and sizes. From Vanessa our ice cream van, to our long wheelbase Movano, to our 7 metre long Mercedes. Our food sampling vans are equipped with storage, fridges, freezers, catering surfaces and power. All the things needed to sample ambient, hot and chilled food to consumers on the road.
Well kind of… in first place is Vanessa our ice cream van. A beautiful vintage Whitby Morrison with a fibreglass body, she was built in 1990. Vanessa has well outlived her carbon footprint and, with some TLC, has been brought back to her former splendour. Based on a MK3 transit our ice cream van has a full chest freezer with electric compressor – so she’s kind of an electric ice cream van. We can run the freezer and compressor from a renewable digital power bank, which means no diesel emissions on site!
A very close second is our Movano. Seen here in full Tofoo branding, we took this awesome food truck on a nationwide tour. Cooking and serving up hot samples of Tofoo this truck features a 16amp, 240v power supply, catering grade worktops, stacks of storage and can take two passengers. A fully self contained sampling van, our Movano goes out on 3 to 4 major campaigns every year.
In at number 3 is our 7m long Mercedes Vario. Originally a commercial vehicle owned by United Utilities, this van formed the base of everything we needed. With its long wheelbase, huge interior and solid structure we converted it to a sampling van. Seen above in its Wall’s Sausages and Fire & Smoke branding this promo vehicle covered more than 3500 miles in just 7 weeks. And didn’t miss a beat.
