There are a few things to consider when looking for branded promo vehicles. Things like visibility, how much of a visual impact it will make, having the text or logos too small or too big, getting to the point of the brand… it all makes a difference. When the promo van is travelling around on the roads or motorways it’s important that other drivers or passengers can see exactly what the brand campaign is for. And when the promotional vehicle is on site and stationary it needs to look good close up. So high-resolution images and a high quality wrap are vital.
There are lots of twists, turns, ups, downs, ins and outs on vintage promo vehicle panels. It’s a good idea to consider that an abstract or non-uniform pattern or background will help disguise some of the undulations, like the Tango ice cream van in this case study. Dark colours can sometimes show up little nicks, dinks and scratches whereas lighter colours tend to work better in situations like that. It’s also important to utilise the larger spaces and blank panels. Perhaps a call to action (CTA) by using a large format QR code that can be scanned on an iPhone from a distance. Similarly the windows can be branded in semi-transparent material (except for the windscreen) which maximises the branding opportunities.
